The Gold Monster frequency is set for 45kHz and after many field trials and testing, Minelab decided that was the ‘sweet spot’ for successful gold hunting. The advanced signal processor that is built into the Gold Monster is of a different type than that of the traditional VLF gold detector. It boosts the sensitivity to gold seeking beyond normal gold detectors.
The waterproof search coil is also genuinely nice and handy for scouting rivers, springs, and shallow water situations. The coil is waterproof up to 3 feet, but the rest of the detector is not waterproof.
The Gold Monster is extremely helpful with its discrimination programming which is adaptive. Salty soils can really throw off many detectors today, but the Gold Monster was programmed to be ready to work for you and will adapt to your environment.
